Technical and Reporting Writing

  • Are you looking to scale up a good practice with a simple, clear practice guide?
  • Have evaluation results to present to donors?
  • Or, an RFP for a grant your project needs?
  • Do you have mandatory reporting requirements?

I can help with that.

What is Technical Writing?

To paraphrase the STC:

  • Writing about technical or specialized topics, such as computer applications, medical procedures, or environmental regulations.
  • Writing for / on technology platforms, such as web pages, help files, or social media sites.
  • Providing instructions about how to do something, regardless of how technical the task is or even if technology is used to create or distribute that communication.

That said, if you need detailed schematics of rocket boosters or super computers, I am not your girl!

But for the majority of writing that either demonstrates how to accomplish or implement a task, project, process, system, etc., or that provides information to relevant stakeholders – like donors, shareholders, government agencies, senior leaders, and others –  let’s talk.

The types of technical documents I write include:

  •     Technical and instructional case studies
  •     Technical and policy briefs and white papers
  •     Technical, field, operations, policy, and training manuals
  •     Donor and lessons learned reports
  •     Annual and sustainability reports
  •     Project and grant proposals
